Strategic Projects

In technological support of the Government, Ceger is currently developing a number of strategic projects:

Modernisation of the Government Technological Network

Technological modernisation of the Government electronic network is in progress, giving increased capacity and bandwidth, extension of the fibre-optic network, and redundancy of systems and applications.

Government Portal

Improvement and renovation of the Government Portal is in progress, as the Government's electronic communication platform.

Interoperability and Document Management

This project enables electronic documentation of procedures and processes, as well as interdepartmental document circulation, including between the Secretaries General of the Ministries.  It includes several forms of interoperability between a range of document management systems.

RedeLex - Electronic Legislative Procedure Network

This project allows interconnection, using a secure private communication network, between the governmental bodies that participate in the Electronic Legislative Procedure: the Government, the Presidency of the Republic, the Assembly of the Republic, and the Constitutional Tribunal. It also connects this network with the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and the National Currency – Mint House. RedeLex will use certified electronic signatures and secure document communication.

State Electronic Certification System

Ceger works with several other IT groups in Public Administration in the implementation of the State Electronic Certification System (SCEE). This is an infra-structure of public keys which supports electronic signatures and other electronic security services activated by public keys (algorithms). SCEE includes a "hierarchy of trust" with digital authentication systems for signatures and identities, using cryptographic methods to guarantee authenticity, confidentiality, integrity and unimpeded transfer of electronic communication, thus allowing secure transactions between the different services and organisms of the State and between the State, citizens and companies.

Voice over IP in the Government Network

This project allows more widespread use of VoIP technologies throughout the Government network (RING), building on the implementations already in place in several Government offices, reducing costs and improving the quality  of service, by integrating data and voice services in the Government network.
